There's a hardcore punk gig in Preston and my brother entered himself as a support, 'playing ukulele with a stick of celery'. He has nowhere near the votes of the top three but if you even get him close to it, it would be awesome. If he gets top 5 he WILL play a gig with a ukulele and a stick of celery...somewhere.

Against Me! Sets Sights For Album Release

Punk rock collective Against Me! has been busy at work on their sixth studio album, Transgender Dysphoria Blues. Laura Jane Grace (formerly Tom Gabel) confirmed that the band is almost finished recording the new album and is looking to release it in either April or May. This album will be released with added significance with their front woman coming out as a transsexual in May of 2012.

I knew me and this band were going to get on when I first saw them supporting someone else and picked up their album, and their album was called ‘My pain and sadness is more sad and painful than yours’.

Honestly, I read the track listings on their albums and they amuse me no end.

And the lyrics on this track please me. It’s just epic amounts of playground taunting “My dad is bigger than your dad, he’s got eight cars and a house in Ireland.” Where do you see lyrics like that? WHERE?

And this is me when I’m angry, to perfection. It’s nasty and it’s crude and it’s sarcastic as all fuck.

Plus it’s nosiy messy post-hardcore.
